The Master Bedroom: A Sneak Peek

Decorating is a process and I'm not sure that I have ever finished a room.  It seems like there is always something else I could add.  Over the last 9 months our Master Bedroom has taken on a whole new look.  Here is a sneak peak into our bedroom transformation.

February 2012:

After 9 years of marriage we purchased our 1st bedroom set and mattress.  We were using a hand me down but it was damaged during a move.

November 2012:

We were only in our house for  3 months when the master bedroom flooded.  I was still experimenting with paint colors.  Do you notice the blue wall on the left and the paint samples taped to the wall?

Master Bedroom:  after the flood
After a little trial and error I found the perfect wall color, White!  I really wanted the walls to disappear and blend in with the ceiling.  I would of painted the ceiling but it is a textured popcorn ceiling.  We picked out new carpet and a few weeks later it was installed.

December 2012:

I picked out new curtains and hardware from J.C. Penney's

January 2013:

I painted my ceiling fan blades to match my furniture.

May 2013:

Our bedroom was really coming along but my old bedding wasn't working for me any more.  In my mind had several reasons to need new bedding.   It was 3 years old,  it had stains from the kids,  the grey blue color didn't make me happy.  Ok, I have to admit I just wanted something new.  I wanted a bedroom that feels like a hotel room.  I went to Target to look ;) at bedding.  I thought I wanted a plain white comforter and a colored blanket to place at the foot of the bed.  Well, money talks and I found this 8 pc set on clearance.  They only had one left and it was a king.  I know it was meant to be.  I finally have that hotel look and feel.

After 10 years my husband still loves me enough to buy me flowers.

    1. Thank you. Finding bedding on sale is a great start. It's been a year in the making and it's still not done. One step at a time. What you don't see is the baby crib on the other wall:)

  7. I love the look of your bedroom ceiling. The triangular shape was really ideal for a ceiling fan. It was a great looking fan to begin with, but I absolutely loved how it looked with the rest of your bedroom after painting it. Great job, Callie! Staci Severns

  18. It looks great. I appreciate the fact that you show the time it took. Sometimes people show room makeovers and before and after pics and make it seem like it was a quick/no big deal kind of thing.
